Crystal Palace vs Leicester 2018/19 Match Preview

It will not make for good reading for Crystal Palace fans as Wilfried Zaha is out through suspension and when he doesn’t play, the Eagles failed to soar. 14 matches the former Manchester United winger has missed for the South London outfit and they have lost each and every one of them.

That is a statistic that will be music to Leicester’s ears as they look to return to winning ways after suffering a defeat to Tottenham at home last Saturday and just like when Palace don’t have their talisman available, the Foxes seem to have the same goalscoring issues.

Last weekend saw Jamie Vardy absent for Leicester and as a consequence they caused Tottenham very few issues in the final third due to a very blunt attack line, something that they will look to rectify when they make the trip to Selhurst Park later this afternoon.

That defeat also bought an end to Leicester’s unbeaten run one that saw them pick up nine points from a possible 15 on offer and when compared to Palace they are certainly the form team. Not only that but bar a tie in terms of average possession they are on top in every head to head metric.

Palace are averaging less than a goal a game in the Premier League this season, a situation that is not going to be aided by the absence of Zaha. Therefore I can’t see anything other than Claude Puel’s Leicester returning to winning ways this afternoon.
